Tesla DarkStar - An Electric with punch
I've had my 2004 BMW 330Ci now for a little over 2 years. I love it! It's a great car. This spring I just bought a 2006 Mazda 5 mini-van as well to tote around all the kids (we have 4 boys now). But ... This morning on my drive into work, I heard about a new car. One that I shouldn't really think about buying. But one that I really think would be a fantastic car to own: The Tesla Dark Star.
The Dark Star
It's made by a Silicon Valley start-up, lead by the guy that brought the world the Rocket eBook Reader... This thing is freakin' sweet! It does 0-60 in 4 seconds, and it effectively gets 135 MPG. Unbelievable.
It also costs $80,000. Maybe that's a bit much, especially for a family guy like me... But I was thinking... I was considering getting rid of the 3 series becuase it's a fuel hog. This would solve that problem, nice and proper.
They'll be shipping early 2007.
Maybe I'll ask Santa for one.

The tesla darkstar rocks !!!!
It is the cure for the oil addiction. I want one, but i dont live in the US. Does anyone know when they will start exporting the cheaper whitestar ?? to the rest of the world?
I hate paying though my ears for fuel and will buy en electric car as soon as possible.
Long live TESLA and the gm EV1 !
